is a psa 35 level possible with a urinary tract infection?

My father-in-law has had an urinary tract infection.Still on antibiotics.His prostate is enlarged some and while on medication(antibiotics) his psa is 35.Is this possible or not

I’m 17 years old and ive had the problem of frequent urination for a while. This has basically been happening for more than a year. Every once in a while I have to go to the bathroom about every 10 minutes, for about 5 times before falling asleep. This only happens during the night, during the day my bathroom breaks are about 3 hours appart. This has been happening for a pretty long time, but other than that i am very healthy and there are no other symptoms of anything serious. I’ve been to the doctor and he said that it’s a psychological thing, related to stress, cause if it was a urinary infection it would have been happening during the day too and if it was anything serious, it wouldn’t have gone for that long without any pain or other symptoms (and im pretty sure im too young to have prostate problems, im 17). I actually have a fair share of stress, but it’s nothing too big, everything’s manageable. Another thing that suggests that this is psychological is the fact that it doesnt happen every night and it only happens when i sleep in my own house (if im out of town or staying with someone else, im fine). The problem is, the fact that i know that it’s a harmless thing doesnt solve the fact that i have to get up every now and then almost every night, walk to the bathroom, take a leak, walk back, then do it over again in a few minutes. Any ways to treat this? Thanks a lot!
PS: I tried holding it before, it doesn’t really work… also, is there anyway this is a serious condition even though it’s been happening for this long and no other symptoms have surfaced? (and it only happens at night and not everyday, just sometimes)
there’s no pain or discomfort when i pee, btw. It’s just that most of the time the ammount that i pee at night is quite little, much less than when i pee normally.
yeah, i dont really have fatigue…. also does anyone know how to treat this if this is stress related?
also about drinking, what’s the healthy ammount? cause i tried not to one day and i felt a bit dehydrated cause i drank very little that day. also, im gonna try to see a doctor, the problem is it probably wont happen for the next several weeks, that’s why im posting this question.
i take no caffeine btw and i just noticed that when im occupied during the night i dont need to go to the bathroom (ive been sitting on my laptop for past half an hour and i dont need to go to the bathroom, but before i picked up my laptop i needed to go 3 times)

Hmm…In order for one to pee, one has to drink. There for in order for one NOT to pee, one must NOT drink. It isn’t exactly rocket science!

What’s causing my frequent urination?

I have been checked for diabetes and I have no infections of any kind according to blood and urine samples yet I am going very frequently. I don’t have kidney stones either. My doctor says he is not worried about it, but something is causing me to go more than normal. I’m only 32 so prostate should be out of the question. Any suggestions?

Urinating too much liquid ("polyurea") needs to be distinguished from the slightly different symptoms of excessively frequent urination, urinary dribbling, or unusual urgency to urinate. Urinating too much fluid or urinating too often can indicate several serious medical conditions. Some possibilities include urinary tract infections, bladder conditions (e.g. interstitial cystitis), or prostate conditions (e.g. BPH). Also possible are metabolic conditions such as Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, or diabetes insipidus. Seek prompt professional medical advice about urination symptoms

These are just a few diseases or infectios that could cause your problems. You did not say if you was drinking water excessively. If so maybe Diabetes Insipidus. Not related to diabetes….

It seems I have frequent urination problems only around my girlfriend. it is so strange. what can I do? A lot of it is stress related i think and anxiety over whether or not she is cheating. My prostate is healthy of course, and there is no other explanation. One doctor told me if she is cheating on me, the scent or pheramones of the other male may linger and be present with her causing me to sense the existence of the other male, causing both frequent urination or other psychological effects. If there is no other male present she could be very hormonal herself, menopause, pre-menopause, or I need psychiatric help. My question is, do humans react the same way to the scent of other males as animals do. Do we become more anxious, hypertensive and territorial -like with all the urination thing- seems crazy to me…

first off what ever doctor told you that crock of a story you do not need to go back to him. secondly your frequent urination could be most likely medically speaking, you could have a urinary track infection that you only seem to notice when you are with her and are associating your feelings of anixiety to that situation. however in any case i would seek a physician to get a order to have a urine test performed to rule out and infection, its not your prostate. and the only other likely item would be situational anxiety which would explain the frequent urination with her.
